Does compulsory school attendance affect schooling and earnings?

Notes: This posting includes two data sets. The first, an ASCII data set in the file QOB.rar, contains the 1980 census extract from Angrist and Krueger (1991) without covariates (men born 1930-39). This same data set was used in Angrist and Krueger (1995) and Angrist, Imbens, and Krueger (1999). The second, NEW7080. rar, contains a large Stata data set with the complete original Angrist and Krueger data sets including both 1970 and 1980 census data, and all cohorts (men born 1920-29 in 1970, men born 1930-39 in 1980, and men born 1940-49 in 1980).

Programs: The Stata programs below produce published tables from Angrist and Krueger (1991) using the data in NEW7080.rar
